Dr. Shahmehdi, a graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), has been in private practice for almost 20 years and loves being a general dentist. Dr. Shahmehdi graduated top amongst his class at UMDNJ, where he gained much recognition for his academic excellence. Dr. S was honored by the OKU Honor society and was elected membership into the Gamma Phi Delta prosthodontic honor society. During his senior year at UMDNJ, Dr. S was one of the five students selected from his class to treat patients in a private practice. Upon graduating from UMDNJ, Dr. Shahmehdi continued his education at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center; one of the most competitive general practice residency centers in the North East.
Dr. Shahmehdi is a strong believer in continuing education. He has completed over 2000 hours in continuing education courses since he graduated. As part of Dr. Shahmehdi’s dedication for continuing education, he has also completed a two year intensive implant placement and restoration course at NYU. Upon completing the course at NYU, Dr. S was requested to return as a clinical associate.
Dr. Shahmehdi’s hobbies include reading, playing soccer and snowboarding. Dr. S loves spending time with his family and the tranquility found at the beach during a storm.
Dr. Shahmehdi wants to provide the highest quality of dentistry to his patients. He is very gentle, compassionate, and understanding. He helps the patients relax, and offers Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) to reduce anxiety. He will take time to explain any procedure, and walk you through it.
